The “Carmel Delights” are a delicious ensemble of dancers from Carmel, California, brought together for their love of lace, rhinestones, and booty shaking.
All of the Carmel Delights are trained in various forms of dance including ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, and acrobatics. They combine the aspects of professional dancing with the fun, flirty theatrics of burlesque for a sensation that is sure to satisfy.
The Carmel Delights originated in 2014 in the heart of Monterey. It was Honey Delight’s dream to delight the masses by drawing together a collection of dancers that would inspire and dazzle!
“Honey Delight” has over 25 years of dance training, performing with Turner Ballet Company, Mendocino College Repertory DC, Mendocino Dance Project, Flynn Creek Circus, and Les Filles Rouges Burlesque Dance Troupe. Honey began training in the Aerial Arts with the internationally renowned Flynn Creek Circus, focusing primarily on the Lyra. Honey founded the Carmel Delights Dance Company in 2014 in order to create a platform to express sensuality and female empowerment through Burlesque.
“Belle Delight” is our prima ballerina. She was a principle dancer for The Civic Ballet Company of SLO for over 10 years, graced to dance roles such as Flower Queen, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum in multiple performances with a live orchestra. She was also able to be pushed out of the element, performing in contemporary pieces such as Alice in Wonderland, Sidewalk Stories, Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the Crucible to name a few. She enjoys the challenge of dancing lead roles in unique and original contemporary shows. Harmony continues to dance as a guest artist with her former company, The Civic Ballet Company, The Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theater, Deyo Dances, and various dance companies on the central coast. She is delighted to be working/dancing with the Carmel Delights. Ballet has been able to show and give Harmony an exciting life that she never thought she could obtain. Training with the New York Joffrey ballet company and traveling for almost 3 weeks in China are a few memorable dance experiences she cherishes.
“Afternoon Delight” has been performing with the Carmel Delights since 2016. She earned her Bachelors of Music from University of Washington in Seattle and has studied music and vocals internationally, specializing in opera. She has been seen in a number of local musical theater productions such as Songs for a New World (Woman 1) and Avenue Q (Kate Monster), here at the Paperwing Theater, as well Urinetown and Oklahoma at Cabrillo Stage. She also performs classical singing for benefit events at Hidden Valley, Pebble Beach Country Club, and Carmel Valley Manor. Afternoon delight loves the sisterhood and creative encouragement the Carmel Delights provide.
“Darling Delight” is our youngest and newest Delight, and although she may seem sweet when she’s playing Darling, she is muy caliente! Prior to dancing with the Carmel Delights, she toured with a professional Salsa Dance Company from the San Francisco Bay Area. Darling has also trained in pole dancing for several years at Ms. Tryss Boutique in Monterey. How’s that for sweet and spicy! While she has trained in many styles of dance, jazz is her absolute favorite style.
