Today we have learned the sad news of the passing of music legend, DJ Jose Padilla, the creator of the Cafe Del Mar compilations.
Words cannot express our sadness at this time and we send our love and condolences to DJ Padilla’s family and friends.
The Cafe Del Mar compilations reached us in Melbourne, Australia before we even knew of the island of Ibiza and the change discovering this magical place would make in our lives. 

The song ‘Tones’ by Marc Durif on Cafe Del Mar Volumen Tres had such magical properties that it propelled our quest and journey from Melbourne to London, Paris and Cannes until finally resting in Ibiza where it took over 10 years to bring the Ibiza Burlesque Festival vision to life.  

In a Twitter statement by Cafe Del Mar have stated ‘José Padilla chilled a generation of clubbers and his art touched the lives of millions. He will always be remembered as the Godfather of Chillout, creator of Café del Mar compilations, and true Ibiza Legend.’
