International Cultural Platform & Living ArchiveIbiza Burlesque Festival is an international cultural platform and living archive dedicated to the history, evolution, and future of burlesque and performance culture.Founded by artist and producer Sapphira (Priscilla Silcock) — creator of World Burlesque Day — the festival is co-produced with Tonestepa (Antony Silcock) her husband, a multi-disciplinary DJ, producer, and senior crew and AV technician for major international stadiums and large-scale live productions. Together, they bring a rare synthesis of artistic vision and high-level technical expertise.Operating across live performance, owned original music, global education, and archival storytelling, the festival’s activity is centred in Ibiza and London, with reach extending worldwide. The programme has honoured major cultural figures including Esther Williams, Bettie Page, and Gypsy Rose Lee, tracing a transatlantic lineage from Hollywood and California through London to Europe. In 2025, Ibiza Burlesque Festival became Official World Record Holders, recognising its sustained contribution to performance, cultural preservation, and innovation. Its work has been presented at landmark venues including Café del Mar, and continues to expand into publishing, film, and formal archival presentation, with Spanish translation underway.Sapphira has been invited three times to the Cannes Film Festival, reinforcing the project’s relationship with international screen culture and global arts networks. Alongside the festival, she also founded World Burlesque Academy, the sister educational platform — the only organisation in the burlesque landscape to be mentored through the European Union Regional Development Fund — supporting skills development, innovation, and creative sustainability.Together, these platforms position Ibiza Burlesque Festival not simply as an event, but as a curated cultural record — preserving performance as living history and shaping its future legacy.
