Sapphira has been formally invited by the President of the Official World Record Association to receive the corresponding Official World Record medal at a presentation scheduled for 2026. This presentation forms part of the ongoing recognition and archival process associated with the record.

Description of the Work

The performances comprised a tribute sequence referencing Australian pop culture, including the influence of Kylie Minogue; original music titled A Life In Art; recorded piano accompaniment by Marc Durif; additional musical elements by Tonestepa; and feather fan performance sequences with burlesque staging. The work integrates live performance, music, and storytelling and is intended as a cultural and archival record rather than a commercial music release.

Context and Significance

A Life In Art reflects a long-form creative practice spanning live performance, publishing, and international festival production. Sapphira trained under her legal name Priscilla Silcock at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Tourism, completing her studies with distinction following a period of deferred study due to illness. She is an alumna of RMIT Europe. She also studied through the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), achieving certification in Grade 5 Theory and Grade 8 Pianoforte.

Her wider body of work includes the creation and launch of World Burlesque Day, an international cultural initiative that has reached audiences in over 151 countries, with a documented global reach exceeding 600,000.

Her memoir series, beginning with Burlesque or Bust, forms part of this long-term practice and has secured a foreword contribution by Erik Lee Preminger, son of Gypsy Rose Lee, situating the work within a recognised lineage of burlesque and performance history.

The project is being prepared for return to Australia as part of a broader archival, educational, and cultural programme planned for 2025–2026.
