Given the current situation with Covid—19 and many European countries in lockdown. We have made the decision to have an online festival programme in 2021.
Our online festival will take place 3 – 5 September 2021 on Instagram with artists & DJs from all over the world. It will follow on from the success of last year’s Online Edition which saw 12,000 people reached and included artists and DJs from 44 countries. Please follow us on social media as further announcements about the line up are announced.
Thank you and stay safe. The Ibiza Burlesque Festival Team
The World Burlesque Day is set to take the globe by storm, building on it’s successful launch last year where 48 countries and 15,000 people engaged online. It is a day to create and celebrate the art of burlesque.
The World Burlesque Day creator, Sapphira, is also the Ibiza Burlesque Festival owner and founder. She has teamed up with Blowpops DJ/Producer, Doc Moody to present the World Burlesque Day 2021 Anthem.
These Boots Are Made for Walkin’
This is a ballsy, jump up, drum n bass reworking of the 1960 Nancy Sinatra classic.
Out 17th April 2021
“I am so excited to tribute one my music icons Nancy Sinatra with the World Burlesque Day Anthem and a TikTok dance challenge, singing her classic song These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” says Sapphira.
“I chose this upbeat cover working with English producer Doc Moody because I wanted to boost morale after the year we have had battling coronavirus. We can all put our boots on and boogie back to happiness together. I hope the world will take up this dance challenge, too. We will be revealing the dance challenge very soon.”
DJ/Producer Doc Moody is best known for his career spanning 30 years and most notably as the Live DJ for Onalee & Futurism 3.0 plus residencies Blowpop UK, Superstyling South Africa and the prestigious Soho House, New York. He has worked his magic in the production of this track that is sure to make you want to jump out of your seat and dance.
“We first played this version in a live DJ set on the Kamikazi stage at Shambala a few years ago and it was the biggest tune in the set. The dance floor went crazy. I can’t wait to see the digital world come to life when we launch our dance challenge, it’s going to be great!“
